Yep, need more info. Generally, I'd say head through central WA and cross at the Aldergrove or Sumas customs, unless you want to visit Vancouver.
Check touring section @ VeloWeb.

Two other things, one the rules have changed slightly, you need a passport to cross the border returning to the US now. Not sure if you need it coming into Canada or not, there was talk of requiring after the US rules changed.
Second, publishing your email address in a forum is NOT a good idea, some forums are readable by spiders and harvesters, so expect to now get 4,294,967,296 emails about male enhancement medications, and Nigerian princes with millions of dollars they are trying to get out of their country paying very handsome commissions -- if you get one of these it's a scam....

There are lots of Packing Lists on the net and on these forums.
When you have packed everything you think you need, unpack and throw half of it away.
Do a weekend shakedown tour to test your bike/luggage rig and your packing contents. Dont stray too far from home.
Once you have some confidence in your rig you can go further afield. I would suggest another weekend tour to be sure then its up to you.
