Price is right. Color is right. Adjustable leg length is right. Heavier than an Edge and clunky looking on the bike. Been there and done that with the 'other' one. My $6 stand from WM is cheap, light, and does the job well most of the time.

I'm not sure how clunky looking it will be after its installed. The highly regarded Pletscher kickstand actually protrudes lower than the Porteur kickstand when folded up. The Pletscher stand protrudes 9 cm below the mounting plate. The Porteur stand protrudes 8 cm. According to the seller, the Porteur stand is 60 gm heavier than the Pletscher stand. That's not significant, if you can stand the weight of the Pletscher.

Single legged kickstand does not work when I carry a load of groceries in my homemade grocery-getter panniers (two 28 qt wastebaskets).

I've decided I am going to go for the Porteur stand and see what it looks like in person. Velo-Orange, like all good internet retailers, does no hassle returns, if you are not happy with the product.
