Got a Randonee this weekend.

I got a 2009 Randonee this weekend. I am pleased with it so far, but was disappointed when I realized that on the Small model, 52cm, there is not a third water bottle holder. I had the cassette changed up to a 11-34 and changed the derailleur to a Deore LX.
I am still working on putting on the lights and the computer so after I get them on, Ill get some pics to post.

Awesome! I am sure you will love it! Let us know how you like it.

Looking forward to the pics.

Good luck on the Randonee. I love mine

Finally got to get a couple pics on my bike today when the snow let up. I havent been able to really ride it since I got it but the miles around town have been wonderful so far. The seat post and saddle are definitely needing replacing. The seat keeps tilting back and forth and wont stay tight.

Go to REI and complain... Maybe they will swap you out with the 2010 design... It's a much better setup. Similar to the Thomson in the way it functions.

The problem is the closest store is about a 90 miles away. I am probably going to make the trip sooner than later because I am looking at getting some different pedals, Shimano A530 or M324.

Throw some fenders on that bike and you can laugh when it rains.

I am looking for fenders for it but all I have been able to find are plastic ones. I am worried about the plastic ones not holding up over time is that the case?

Planet Bike Cascadia in 45mm... Check out how they look here on my Rondonee... Tough as nails. My front fender survived my car/bike wreck and the forks/wheel/frame did not. I got them in black because it's a little easier to keep looking clean. I think you can also get them in chrome look as well.

Metal fenders dent and can get twisted so either plastic or metal and bad things can happen to them. I have PB fenders on my bike and my wife has aluminum fenders on her bike and her fenders have some dents in them already so the moral of the story is nothing lasts forever. Also, you can add a waterbottle cage anywhere on your bike and you'll see that you don't have one on the front of your down tube for a reason. I have one on my bike but it's useless for anything other than a small fuel bottle due to clearence issues with the front wheel. Enjoy your new ride. I'm sure once you've spent some time with it you'll see what is important and what isn't.
