scp0271,

Thanks for starting this thread as I have come to learn of the Thorn range and am liking what I see. I have some more reading up to do but I am seriously considering the Sherpa. They have an ex-display model on ebay £1109, thoughts...anyone?

Best,

Daz.

I don't know if I would call it a fantastic deal considering it is mainly Deore. But the high end racks and tires does make it worth considering. But I am not familiar with UK pricing except for checking out Chainreaction Cycles.

Make sure you do take the time to get the right size. My 620s barely works for me since I am a little cramped. I should have purchased the 585l but that was my mistake. I am going to take it to a knowledgeable bike fitter in Spokane and if he confirms my thoughts, you might be seeing it on ebay or craigslist but not until I have the 585 on the way to me from SJS.

Hi all. In case you're wondering...I've talked to my neighbor who is a blacksmith by trade and he's going to make me a telescopic clickstand that will fit in my bags. I'll probably just use a velcro strap to fix the front wheel when loaded. I think it's a good option. I'm going to wait for the mirror as maybe I'll soon change for some butterfly handlebars.
Again, thank you for the advice.
Ciao

I strongly prefer to ride with a mirror. Helmet-mounted. This time of year, when I put on a hat under the helmet I've more than once realized that I forgot the helmet because I went to check the mirror and it wasn't there.
