They were messaging 20% off any Outlet item a few days ago (10 days ago?) -- at least that was the email I got (as a member). They are still clearing out winter merchandise.

As noted above, the spring sale is coming up...

As convenient as REI is for me I just can't justify their pricing anymore. I can always seem to find something that works just as well for less money and if you watch the sales you can get free shipping at other places. Now their west coast distribution center is about a mile from my house.( I pass it everyday on my way to work) I wish they would give pickup and return service for local customers for those rare occasions I do find something I like there I could pick it up instead of paying shipping to Kent and back to Sumner or driving 12 miles to Tacoma and wasting the gas. IMHO as always.

stringbreaker, agreed! I live just as close, but if I buy from REI online, I either pay shipping (from the distribution center down the street to my house, which is billed the same as if it was across the country), or I drive 15 miles to go pick it up at the store. REI once told me they used to have will-call; I can't see any reason they can't reinstate it.

Why drive to REI when you can ride your bike?
Nancy- Dividends should be sent out next week along with the 20% off coupon.

Thanks all! It turns out that Eddie Bauer (who has offered to sponsor us) has some tents they will send out. They aren't yet on the market, but they'll give us two - so we won't need to order tents from REI after all.
