While I was riding again tonight it sounds like I have some sand in my wheel hubs. They are Tiagra hubs and I am worried about pulling them apart. Are the bearings loose or are then in a cup? Also what would be a the correct grease to put on them? Would a industrial grease, ie NGLI 2 be too heavy to re pack them with?

I finished welding and then modifying my front rack for this bicycle so I got to put my panniers on them finally. Its big difference in the way the bike handles with weight on the front wheel.

Tonight I went for a 5 mile out and 5 mile back ride to a park where I stopped and cooked supper. It was such a beautiful day and so nice to sit in a quite park cook some supper watch the ducks swim while the sun sets.

Suggest if you don't have a proper wrench you should stop by the LBS and have them check them.... they are loose balls. I think it's a 19mm but not positive. You can do it for sure but.... you need the wrench and some good grease. I use the park stuff and can't comment on the grease you mention since i'm not familiar with it.

NGLI 2 is a standard the grease manufactures use for a consistency, like different oil weights. We use it for bearings on vehicles and for lubricating pins on heavy equipment.
