Austin, TX to Bisbee, AZ?
 

Has anyone here ever biked from Austin, TX to Bisbee, AZ? I'd love to try doing that someday but I'd feel better about it if I could get info from someone who has already done it.

This covers some of the route http://pathlesspedaled.com/?p=1135. Also CrazyGuyOnABike has some journals. NM highway 9 is generally used from around El Paso,TX to Columbus,NM to Rodeo,NM, Douglas,AZ on to Bisbee. Plenty of border patrol company. Also NM 9 is said to be a major wide load route for trucks that cannot travel interstates.

I second the path less pedaled folks, Russ and Laura just made that trek over, not the most direct way, but maybe the most scenic.
