Just showing off
My new ride I saw it in the shop last autumn and finally took the plunge last weekend. Did my first "mini tour" yesterday from Fayetteville to Raleigh, a shade over 100 miles all told. This bike rides smooth, goes down hills like it's on rails and busts through headwinds pretty easily too.

Yeah man, there's definitely no better feeling than riding away from the 'ville. I went straight up 401 and, no surprise, had no traffic mishaps til I was two miles from home on Ramsey, when not one but TWO cars tried to turn out into the intersection I was riding through... love this town! When were you here?

I picked one up as well a couple months ago. I'm thinking of getting the same orange Ortliebs for front and back. You can see some nice shots on my page:

Just the basics: stripped the reflectors, added a computer, bottle cages, panniers, bar , saddle and frame bags, lights. The only thing I really see a need to change is the saddle. Oh, and I put a kickstand on it Congrats on breaking the 50 mile mark. I dig those fenders, who makes them?

man, I've heard some stories about this place in the 80s. Hay Street is really cleaned up, they have a lot of free concerts down there and it's been all gentrified now... even a fledgling bike community. The Boulevard and the Murch are still pretty rough though, and riding down Yadkin is a death wish...

I was just in Fayetteville this weekend. My son is stationed at Ft. Bragg, and his wife had their first baby on Saturday so I spent a lot of time at Womack.
