Nashbar touring frame no longer available?.

I guess Nashbar dropped there touring frame. I was looking for a inexpensive frame to build up for around town . Any feedback on the Cyclocross frame?..........

Thanks.....Mike

The Nashbar Touring frame comes and goes, it's never gone for good. They get so many made, sell them, then get more in eventually.

Their Cross frames have short chainstays for touring. 130mm spacing instead of 135mm. Fine for across town, not for touring.

Thanks for the update.......I'm in no hurry.........

Yeah, they'll have them back on their site when the next shipment of touring frames comes in.

Yeah, I emailed them and they said it would be in by summer.

Perhaps they are making some changes for the better. Ya think?

They already did that once this year. It would make sense for them to improve it. They could own this segment without too many changes. But they have been slightly off for a long time.

just called

They said that their touring frame would be available sometime mid-July to the 1st of August, and not to expect it anytime sooner than that. They also expect it to be 199.99.

This is frustrating because I plan on doing a tour starting mid June and want to build a bike up....and was hoping to do it with the Nashbar touring frame....does anyone have one they aren't useing!? :D

At that price I would probably not be interested. I was tempted when the price with coupons was like 79 bucks.

Yep I was gonna buy one and build it up but got the Windsor instead, glad I did its a complete bike and its steel.

Sure they do. The MSRP on the last version was $199.99. And, just like the last one, it wouldn't surprise me if the new one was perpetually on sale for $149.99 or less. Don't think you'll see the $79 clearance prices anytime soon, but I don't think you'll find many brand-new touring frames that are better in the $100-149 price range...

If you check the Nashbar returns every day, you might luck out. I got my Nashbar touring frame as a return, at a time when the frame was otherwise unavailable. It's a long shot to be certain, but Nashbar gives you a full refund if you return items in new condition within a year of the purchase date, and there are undoubtedly some people out there who were meaning to build up their frame but just won't get around to it anytime soon.

Naturally you should have a plan B in case you don't luck out, but you never know.
