If I cold only take one tour, it would be my first and last.
I would go to Italy and tour as long as my body could hold up which might not be very long but it would be an adventure for me, that's for sure.

Northern India, through the Himalaya below Anapurna, into Tibet to Gyatse, pilgrimage to make the Kora around Kailash, and back on the Friendhship Highway over the Himalaya again into Nepal.
It's been a dream of mine for years. Now if the PRC will make travel arrangements a little easier, I might just have to go when the kids are out of the house.

One more? I'd hit the road and would not stop till I'd seen and cycled in all the countries in the world ... or as many countries as I could possibly see and cycle in (i.e favourable political situations) ... or until I grew so sick of being on the road day in and day out for years on end that I wanted to stop.
Italy is a very small country. You could tour it quite thoroughly in a month or two. Are you ill or injured in some way that a tour of a month or two would put you in a wheelchair?

I'm about mid-way through the book "Miles from Nowhere" by Barbara Savage so, I would have to say a world tour for me.

2 1/2 years of riding around the Netherlands and I'm still finding new routes.
I think Italy would be an excellent choice. Was recently there. I could spend weeks just rattling around Tuscany (hic).

Yeah, a world tour, but that's kind of cheating as the OP meant a particular destination and on a world tour you can cover, well.... the world
But in terms of particular destinations I'd have to choose between some place in Africa (Kenya?) or the Himalayas.

Take Italy, for example. If I were planning a tour to end all tours ... a one-and-only tour... and wanted to include Italy, I couldn't just limit it to Italy ... I'd be compelled to travel around the rest of Europe too. And maybe down into north Africa. And maybe into Russia. And if I'm doing that, I might as well go right across to Korea, Japan, etc. And if I've got that far, I would want to check out the parts of Australia I haven't seen yet, and hop over to New Zealand. Then since I'm travelling, I might as well take in South America and North America.

As for realistic particular destinations ... the next place on my list I'd like to go is to parts of Australia I haven't been yet (i.e. Perth area) and New Zealand.

I'm passing through eastern China at the moment and I probably won't bicycle tour here again. I would ride Canada if I could only do one tour.

I am not sure what my body can handle right now, mostly becuase I have been sore from doing other things and playing other sports i.e. lower back pain from tennis the last couple of weeks has slowed me down.
I do believe if a had a couple of months to train I could put up a much better effort becuase I am still realtivley active.

If I could only choose one more tour, I would consider returning to an area I have gone before rather than going somewhere new. I often go back to places I have enjoyed. Seeing them a second (or third) time can bring greater appreciation.
So where would I choose?
- Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada
- Alsace, France
- Burgundy, France
- Texel Island, Holland

If I had 50 days in which to complete a tour, I'd be torn between doing the North Sea Route, touring New Zealand, and doing a tour of the Japan/South Korea/Taiwan area.

I don't know how much time I have left, but before I kick off I want to bicycle from Perth to Sydney (preferrably in June- August). That 4200 km route should take 42 days - maybe ;-)
An added PLUS would be "stopping" the eastern journey in Adelaide, bicycling north to Darwin, then taking the Ghan back to Adelaide, and continuing on to Sydney....
Naturally the total trip could take up to 4 months. Perth-Sydney (in 42 days) is more do-able in one go as I won't have to quit my job....

I haven't toured in years as my husband isn't into it and I hate camping, but Croatia would be nice. The towns are close enough together to do it as a credit card tour, the scenery is beautiful, and along the coast the water is very clear and swimmable. I went there on a one week Swimtrek tour a couple of years ago and thought it would be nice to come back with more time to explore.
