Giant OCR Touring racks
I just traded in my OCR 3 for the OCR touring and now my Axiom racks won't fit. Any suggestions? What racks would fit or are there some mods I can make to use the Axiom racks.
Thanks |

For those of us not familiar with the ORC's, what is the difference in the rear triangles between the two frames that's causing you mounting trouble?

When I try and mount the rear rack, one of the bolts that hold on the disk brakes prevents the rack from standing straight up, the only solution I could think of would be a spacer on that side. I am worried that that solution wouldn't be as strong. The front mid fork braze on is positioned to low to match the Axiom rack. Hopefully my explanation makes some sense, my bike jargon is limited.

You're trying to mount your old standard racks on a new bike with disc brakes. Disc specific racks are available.

Thanks for the info, my LBS has been great and I'm sure they will be able to fix my problem

Hi there,
My lbs said they had no problem mounting a Blackburn Exp. on my OCR touring. I have pictures of the set up on my webpage: http://members.rogers.com/tblboy/v2/ocrtouring.html Andrew |
I just did a tour on my OCR and used a Performance Trans-it rack. On the side with the discs I had to flatten a 2 inch section of the tubing with vise grips and rubber automotive tubing (Slipped over the tube so I didn't mar the finish). Worked perfectly. I too thought I would have to spend a small fortune on disc specific racks, but with a little patience and ingenuity you can make standard off the shelf racks work.
