Old Man Mountain Red Rocks and Cold Spring front
Since it is saturday, I suspect OMM itself is closed today, otherwise I'd just call them.. But I'm looking at taking my beat up Red Rocks rear rack and Cold Spring front rack and mounting them on my new Salsa Vaya to prepare for a tour this summer. I know I need longer upper arms for the Red Rocks for the back, need about 4-5" for level, the bottom eyelets easily clear the disc on the disc brakes cause of where Salsa put the discs (on the chainstays!) I have a question about the Cold Spring front rack, which since it came off a mountain bike with a Marzocchi bomber suspension fork, it is made to use the brake bosses and a QR. The vaya, of course, comes with lower eyelets and just looking at it, it does look that OMM can easily make an adaptor that I could remove the QR mounts and the adaptor could mount to the lower eyelets? Is this true, I'd hate to have to buy another rack and I'd rather not use the QR mounts.. I figure somebody out there may know before OMM opens next week..
