Any hybrids out there with braze-ons

Just curious if anyone can suggest a good hybrid that might have braze-ons for rack and fenders making for a good touring bike.thanks in advance for any replies.

Why a hybrid?

Look into Diamondback. When I bought my bike fromthem ( hybrid) it had 2 bottle mounts and plenty of spots for from & rear racks & fenders

Can't go wrong with a mid 90's Specialized Crossroads or early 90's Trek 700 series. Both cro-mo steel, long chain stays, plenty of braze-ons, and nearly bomb proof.

um, try the hybred sub-forum?

Just rear, or front as well? Most or all of the Kona Asphalt line have them on the rear, and their geometry is very similar to the Sutra, their dedicated tourer.

Finding both front and rear will be tougher.

Try the Marin street series hybrids. I have the Larkspur complete with rack and fender mounts and two bottle cages.

Trek 7.3 FX

Univega Via De Oro has all the braze-ons, including low rider mounts on the forks. Early nineties - maybe 1990 or 1991, chromo steel, all XT components. If you can find a used one they are really good all around bikes and make good tourers too.

Just get a dedicated touring bike and add flat bars. Sell the drops and shifters/levers.

I've got the Trek 7.3 FX set up as a touring bike and it works great. I don't think the original wheelset is quite up to the task, but everything else works well. Do notice though, that if you go up a model to the 7.5, you lose the front braze-ons, probably because of the carbon fork.

Specialized Sirrus Sport.

Jamis Coda has front and rear fender and rack braze-ons. It's a nice steel frame too. I've done centuries on mine and have considered it my main touring bike, if I ever get a chance to tour...
