What do doctors who regularly treat male symptoms have to say? Why does it not occur to anybody here to simply ask Urologists?

The nut case that got most of this BS going was a NYC doctor that specialized in ED. He seemed to reason that since every cyclist that came to him had ED, then all cyclist must have ED assuming they are not female.

Except that if your saddle is set up correctly you shouldn't have any significant pressure on your soft tissue, it should all be on your sitting bones.

You're probably right. Putting all your body weight on the roots and bulb of your penis probably doesn't hurt anything at all. It's probably good for the tissues to go for hours at a time, being crushed and all blood supply cut off.

Why don't you do something smart and learn how to do a proper bike fit?
The OP asked for "Studies linking biking with infertility or sexual dysfunction." So far no one, YT included, has supplied same. For those who can not figure out how to use the google, or don't want to look at the facts, I'll do it for you. OP's request herewith fulfilled: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16422816 http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/91896-overview ---women please note that a study quoted in this link found that "34% of the women reported perineal numbness." http://www.sq-lab.com/images/stories...udien-2008.pdf http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/blog/nsb042209_bikesaddle.html ---note that in the study of noseless saddles, "only three of the 90 men remaining in the study had returned to a traditional saddle" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle...nital_numbness ---links to many studies at the bottom of this last. http://www.webmd.com/erectile-dysfun...le-dysfunction http://roadbikerider.com/pbs_page.htm http://www.nature.com/ijir/journal/v.../3900929a.html http://www.medicinenet.com/script/ma...ticlekey=84072 ---note in this last link the mention that bars below saddle height may result is less risk of ED, not more as many assume. I run my bars between 2" and 3" below, for touring too. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/04/he...ocL7MKhnbZap8g I have a riding buddy who does at least one 1200k brevet every year who rides a noseless saddle. He says it's the only saddle he found that didn't make him numb, and he has no problems descending or riding no hands. |

From what I understand, they DO have the smallest dicks. SOMETHING must be stunting their growth!

ED has nothing to do with bike fit. Some people have the dimensions that cause it, some don't.

You claim that bike fit has nothing to do with ED, then you include a note about bike fit affecting ED!
I directed that comment toward those who say that all you need to do to get rid of the problem is to get a proper bike fit. Not true. |
