Jannd Extreme vs. Surly Nice mounting questions

I am in the market for a front rack that mounted low for stability. An added bonus would be a flat platform that can holding a sleeping bag or thermarest. It appears that these two fit this criteria.
Has anyone had experience with these?

We are using the Surly Nice racks and really like them. They aren't cheap, but Surly is sponsoring us so we didn't have to pay for them. After using them for the past 2.5 years, I do think they are worth it though, and would most likely buy them again if we took another big trip.

I love the flexibility of the low riders and top platform - we don't carry much on the platform, but it's nice to have it for things that are hard to pack in other places.

We have had zero problems with our racks so far after 23,000 km.

I have the Jandd Extreme and like it a lot - no complaints. The mounting for the panniers is low enough. The platform is very handy. When I put it on my LHT it was a little too wide, but I had taken off a Tubus that came with spacers. I used those spacers and they worked perfectly on the Jandd. That was the only "glitch".

I have the Jannd XL on the back and Surly Nice on the front. The Surly is a monster, I think I could pick-up a hitchhiker on the top platform, I think my rims would cave before the front rack. Massive. Both Jannd and Surly make super racks, I love the little details on the Surly.
