Anyone using the VO Constructeur Rear Rack?
I think this is a nice looking rack paired with their fenders. Anyone know the max load for this?
Any other comments about the Constructeur Rack are welcomed... |
definitely not for heavy loading. french constructeur rear racks are more for holding the fender than actually carrying weight. you might as well get something a bit more useful. If need something fancy and shiny, get a nitto.

If you're looking for an attractive, very solid rack that compliments classic looking fenders, I'd second the suggestion to consider Nitto. I use this one:
http://www.rivbike.com/products/show...k-nitto/20-022and I'm very satisfied. It's beautifully done -- better fillets than on most bike frames these days. No rust. Rock solid, even with a decent load. The platform is long enough that you can position bags in many different ways. A plus to the triangulation is that you can usually locate a pannier so that one of the struts prevents it from shifting fore and aft. Very nice. |

Then again, a mid sized saddlebag and a pair of front painners is all you need for many tours. |

They don't give a lot of detail on tubing weight etc... But the design is way stronger than say a tubus duo or ergo. Those are front racks, and whether "indestructible" or not they are limited to 15 kg, but if the Constructor racks are made of 3/8" tubing they should be stronger than that.
