Wher did you leave from? Two months sounds absolutely awesome. I like the reference to snow - that is a good attitude there!

I have already gone over the wheels for the proper tension (I am a pretty decent bike mechanic myself) and I feel pretty confident in the build I did, I rebuilt them myself with brass nipples instead of alloy and SS spokes. That doesn't mean I won't have a few spokes included in my spare parts bag Worst case scenario, I can have a new wheelset built up and shipped to me from the shop I currently work at, but I will knock on wood because that would cut into my beer funds.

Two months is delayed slightly. I broke the bike

Here is mine. I bought the bike a couple of months ago, to cycle down the US coast, along with a couple of smaller trips in western Canada.

only took secondary roads, no national roads, most of the time alone, also a lot of off road,
no traffic at all. travelling from village to village, avoding big cities. sleeping in small hotels.

Sounds fantastic! What a stunning photo!

The front is a 10liters one, the back I am not sure... but I'd say it fits 3-4 times the small one. I fit my small tent, self-inflating mat, a tarp and my flipflops in there.
So far the bike has been good with me (+1500km so far). Just a few adjustments and typical maintenance.

Looks like an Abus Granit Bordo lock on the bottom of your down tube. How is that working for you? I guess nobody finds about about the security aspect any easy way! But for convenience... e.g. can you lock it to a lot more things than a regular U-lock? I like the way it packs up compactly.

I was skeptic when I bought it, but it proves to be a very convenient lock. It can definitely fit a lot more things than a D-lock. I've locked my bike around trees, parking meters and other things that a d-lock wouldnt fit. Some times it's a bit tricky to make it work though... but you get used to its functionality and things get easier.
It also packs very small as you mentioned, which I really like. Now I am not so sure about how much stronger it is compared to a similarly priced d-lock. But I guess any lock can be broken.
So far I haven't regretted buying it.

"Hilly" is an understatement. Also, services are far and few between (at least where I was on the east side) so you need to carry just about everything you need. Beautiful though!

Curious indeed- looks like it folds up? Also looks a lot more like Nevada than like Big Sur.

I recently ditched the ginormous car camping sleeping bag for a nice new Nemo Rhythm 40 degree bag given to me as a prize at the Great Gravel Gathering by the awesome dudes at Freeze Thaw Cycles and have since gotten some salsa anything cages for the fork blades.

On the Katy Trail Missuori

I didn't pull the trailer the whole way. My son and ride partner had a sore knee the end of the last day. So I pulled it for about 15 miles to give him a rest.

Here are both bikes and my son.
