Getting ready for the first leg of our Northern Tier adventure in 11 days. Changes for this year include a new candy apple powder coating, Arkel rear panniers, camping gear on the front & rear rack, aero bars, lowered handlebar brackets, and dual Planet Bike Superflash taillights. All at the cost of about 15 pounds!
Thanks for looking ,

What ^^madscot^^ said! Are those WoodysFenders and what rear view mirror is that? Your Brooks saddle looks custom cut as well. I've also been thinking about some aero bars on my LHT for tours.
Very nice ride!

Thanks. The fenders are Woodies; he does great work. I had Sella Anatomica cut their LD slot into my Brooks Flyer 1500 miles ago, and I am very pleased with that. The mirror is a Blackburn for drop bars. It attaches to the brake lever hood. I can't feel it at all when I am riding.

Thanks for the info, I just ordered the mirror and contacted Sella An-Atomica about cutting my saddle. I had head once a while back from someone else who had the same thing done but didn't know if I wanted to try that yet. After this last trip though, even though my Flyer Special was great, I had a few painful days and now I think I'm ready to have it circumsized.

Something a little different: Here's my PBW FS-R14 last time I had it loaded up (a few years ago). Equipped with Tubus Swing front rack, Ortlieb Front Roller panniers and CCF (Custom Cycle Fitments, made by John Forester) touring saddlebag.

Heres my bike, it's currently two days before I start my first tour so this load is probably going to change a bit. Oh, and excuse the crappy camera.

Specialized Dolce with lock, tools, and electronics up front, camping gear and clothing in the back. I'm going to take her out for some shakedown in the area next week and enjoy the suddenly empty state parks.

They are Jandd panniers. Mini Mountain Panniers on the front and Mountain Panniers on the rear.
They are kind of a before and after. We rode from Silverton to Durango and took a day off in Durango. We are kind of newbies so we decided to send some stuff home that we didn't need. One of those things was the external pockets that are on the rear of my back panniers in the first photo. They had pannier rain covers and spare tubes in them. I didn't need the rain covers (I had lined my panniers with large plastic bags that worked well).

My Kona Smoke 2-9 and I just did our first tour. Tons of fun
Starting from the Catskills, It took three nights and four days to get to our destination 275 miles away in the Adirondacks, about 60 miles east of Watertown. I camped out for a few relaxing days before I caught my car ride home.

Just outta curiosity, where'd you end up? (I'm originally from Harrisville, about 50 miles east of Watertown)
...we don't get alot of touring cyclists up this way.

I guess I'm a KoolAid drinker! Here's a picture of my LHT before my first tour ever! I actually was looking at the Trek, but couldn't find one in my size at the time. I don't think I could like a bike much better than this one.
I almost forgot this picture. I had been riding almost all day, it was around 98F, and I was nearly out of water. When I saw what was on the sign I had to get a picture!
