How does the backpack work on the bike? I've seen a few people do that and I am wondering how comfortable it is.

Between Fairplay Colorado and Hartsel. TransAmerica Trail. Windsor Tourist 2006 (rebranded Fuji Touring) that I bought from Bikes Direct. $500. Solid bike. Changed the rear wheel to Mavic and changed out the saddle, pedals, chain, and tires. Used Lone Peak Panniers from the touring store.

As long as the rack fits, the panniers will do.

The photos I posted before disappeared (as well as other people's). I made a page showing my bike over the years: https://www.borealphoto.com/articles/..._alpin_pro.htm

I like the one below, ready to tour skeleton...

A picture of my bike on my last day of my recent tour out to the rockies and back. A little heavy on the back but it held up for 2300 km with basically no major problems aside from a few broken spokes. This is my make-do convert of my old mountain bike until I have the cash to buy a touring bike.
