Snowbird? I haven't been there since the early 70's, but it looks familiar.

(1) For the first time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mExBm2NlWME

(2) Later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac0mi...eature=related

(3) Cruising at Mach 3.4, smoothly and silently, at 90,000 feet, at night, through the soft glowing luminescence of the vast canyon formed by two high curtains of the aurora borealis.

(4) Falling in love, well and truly.

Flying - sex - snow skiing. Best non-biking combo in the world, imho.
I used to include deliberately falling out of of perfectly good airplanes in that combo, but my ankles and knees won't allow it any more.

Oh man, #1 just makes my stomach do flips. It wasn't that many years ago that I finally conquered enough of my fear of heights to get up and put a roof on my house. That video was almost too much for my senses.

man I wish I was in Ca. or S. Korea, I miss biking now with all the snow.....
cheers
Don't be jealous of me, its been snowing here for about 2 weeks. Lots of ice on the roads and the bike path around the Han river. I just got some new Marathon XRs that I am hoping will help with that situation. Also, the drivers in Seoul are out of their minds.

If you were in Korea you would be a "wei gook" but also a Canada saram (Canadian person). Unfortunately I am a "me gook" (American person) and one of my friends is a "young gook" (British person). Korean is a fun language.

Im trying to come up with a witty comment about "fun" along with purple nurples and nether region intrusions, but I haven't succeeded, except to make all the other posters go "what the %$$#@!! is he talking about**********" (man o man that was odd reading about all that, seriously, like really seriously. What a weird cultural joke. I loved the combo of kid-smacker and old guy flattener, just fracking hilarious!!!)

well, safe riding me gook. Ive had a lifetime of two wheeled experience, including racing motorcycles and am pretty comfortable with wheels sliding, but am always surprised how "blink of an eye" fast you can lose the front end on ice sometimes. Part of the reason why I dont ride in winter, plus its messy as heck and murder on a bike with the salt.

cheers

Easy way around that - hook up with another tourist!

Seriously. You won't even be able to tell which foul BO belongs to who.

Not better than for me, but a good winter substitute: Planning tours. Maintaining a (so far private) database of free campgrounds, national forest dispersed camping policies, overnighter-friendly town parks, small town libraries with wifi, stealth spots often mentioned in tour journals.

Hey thanks, I am glad that you enjoyed the journal because its my first one. I am glad that those weird experiences gave other people a good chuckle. I will be sure to watch my front tire this winter too.
