FINALLY pulled the trigger on a touring bike - Jamis Aurora
Went to the LBS in my home town today intending to buy a LHT but found out that 2010 Jamis bikes were 20% off and they can order one in my size. My wife already has a Cannondale T800 and this bike was closer to what she has than the LHT. When I talked it over with the wife, we decided that our most likely touring scenario was 3 days on the bikes max (due to the 2 year old) and the LHT is likely more than I'll ever need. I sold some firearms and put the $ on the bike. I pick it up on the 17th.:thumb::)

Swapping guns for a bicycle...You have your priorities right. |
I've heard good things about this bike. Cambria Bikes had one on their floor a couple of years ago. It looked nice. I'll look forward to hearing your impressions. Have fun!

Good choice! I love my Aurora, which I use for recreational riding. Since I bought it last May, my mileage per outing has increased noticeably. It gives such a smooth, pleasant ride that the miles seem to melt away-and leaves me wanting more-even when my original goal has been met for the day. Hope you enjoy yours just as much when you get it. :)

Congratulations on the new bike, and also a hearty "well-done" for incorporating bicycling into your family life.

Congrats on the Jamis. They make some of the best bang for the buck bikes around.

Congratulations on the new bike. My wife picked up a Jamis Aurora in early 2010 and loves it for general riding as well as touring. You can go for a lot longer than 3 days with it.
