Disk Compatible front racks on Karate Monkey

We are planning a tour at the end of March, and I am sort of between touring bikes right now, so I am planning on touring on my Karate Monkey which I have set up with drop bars, a high rise stem, bar end shifters, three chain rings etc, so it should do just fine.

I am having some trouble, however, deciding on a front rack. I am running a disk brake up front, and just took note on Surly's website of this announcement that you cannot run a rack with disk brakes... I don't see why?

I can only find two racks that seem like they will fit the bill, Old Man Mountain's Cold Springs or the Axiom Journey. Does anyone have info on either one of these racks, or know of any others that will work with the Monkey? The Cold Springs looks nice, but it is darned expensive! The Axiom has a nice price, but I wonder if it will work well.

I have OMM Cold Springs racks on all my Surlys [LHT, Pugsley & Big Dummy] that have a front rack. They work great, are light and strong. My oldest is 8-10yrs old and haven't had any issues with it.
