Scored a LHT on Craigslist
Surly Long Haul Trucker
Surly Long Haul Trucker
This is the blue Trucker from 2006. 56 cm. Only has about 200 miles on it. Obligations and priorities necessitate its sale. This thing is LOADED!
Surly Nice Racks on front and rear.
Hand-built wheels: XT 36-hole hubs with Salsa Delgado Cross 700c rims
Vittoria Adventure Comfort 700x38 tires
Mountain climbing gears: 26/36/48 front, 11-34 rear
XTR rear, LX front dearailleurs
Dura-Ace barcon shifters
Titec seatpost and handlebar
Cane Creek Headset
Avid Arch Supreme linear-pull brakes w/ Avid 287 V-levers
Fenders
Lizard Skin chainstay protector
Specialized BG Saddle
Icon clipless pedals
Tail light
3 water bottle cages
I used to be a service manager in a bike shop and built this bike up piece by piece. I'll sell it with or without the saddle and/or pedals since those are personal preference items. Shifters set to friction since there does seem to be some discrepancy when mixing Shimano road and mountain drivetrain components, but I prefer friction anyway.

According to Surly specs, a 56 should fit my 5'9", 32" inseam body fine.

everyone is different but I'm 5'8 31' inseam and I have a 52, you want to be careful with stand-over on this bike. In my sandals I get contact, not terrible but it's there.

Arrived today. Seller did a nice job packing it, bubble wrapped most of the frame. Reassembled it, left off the fenders and front rack. Will be taking out this evening for a shake down ride, get everything adjusted for my fit. Hardly ever ridden, still the original packing grease on the brake pivots, and tires show absolutely no wear!

Put in 20 miles on it Thursday evening. The seating position is so upright I felt like I was riding a barstool! I think I will have to change the stem out to change that. And I will be putting on a narrower tire. But otherwise the ride was great! I looked down at my Garmin and was shocked that I was 10 miles into the ride when it felt like only a couple. Very impressed with the stopping power of the brakes, almost as powerful as the disc brakes on my old bike, and more powerful than my road bikes. I believe I am gonna love this bike for my long rides and trips!

The position is now too upright for my liking, so was going to look into a little bit "flatter" stem that will lean me over just a tiny bit. Have ridden a few times and not sold on the bar cons. Give it a few more rides to see if I get used to them. If not, I think I may go to downtube shifters. Brifters would just be too expensive to put on it.
