Panaracer T-serv Protex Tires -- Different sizes for front and back?

Not sure if this is the optimal place to post this, but I'm getting some Panaracer T-serv Protex tires for my around-town bike. Basically, I'll ride on back roads, side walks, and occasionally a dirt trail. I was originally going to get two 700x32 tires, but I was thinking of maybe getting a 700x32 for the front and a 700x28 for the rear. Would that be a bad setup? I thought it might give a little extra speed, while still absorbing bumps fairly well.

your answer: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tires.html check the section: Mixing/Matching Tires but read the whole page, very good knowledge there.

You may suffer a bit on anything but a pristine serviced trail. Yeah it's doable but not necessarily fun. FYI: 28 front 32 rear is my normal light touring and daily ride setup.

btw, you might consider the 28mm T-serv in the rear and a 32mm Specialized Borough in the front. It's got a wider tread with lugs on the side whereas the T-serv has a narrower contact patch in the same size.
