first tour
Just finished my first tour, (12 days, 650 miles, 8 mountain passes) through the mountains of Colorado. Just want to thank everyone on this forum who provided a wealth of knowledge to a rookie. Thanks

Can you give us some details? How did you camp? Did you have any problem getting water and foods? How was the heat when climbing those 8 passes? Traffic?

^ Yes, please post more! Pictures if you have them, or maybe a link to a Crazyguy journal?

12 days, 11 nights, 6 campsites, 1 hostel, 4 hotels. Much more challenging then I had thought. I'm from flattttt South Florida. Got used to going up the Passes at 4-5 mph with 75 lb bike. What I didn't expect were the numerous headwinds and the blazing sun in the afternoons, especially in southern and western Colorado. I don't mind "hurting" when you are climbing in the nice, cool and spectacular scenery of the mountain passes, but to fight headwinds and the sun on the high desert areas was brutal. Did independence Pass outside of Vail on last day then back up to Leadvile so being able to watch the Tour of Colorado do it yesterday was pretty neat. Didn't bring "kitchen"
just ate wherever, (mostly microbrews, I have a soft spot for dark beers)
