Ready to Rock and Roll...well almost
 

Finally got my Giant Iguana conversion off the workstand and rolling out into the real world.:thumb:

Still have a few odds and ends to take care of, as well as some tweaking.
But so far I am happy with the overall results. Hope to get a shake down S24O in the next couple of months.

Like the colour combination. Very nice. Only one thing missing, though - a landscape moving in the background. I'm sure you'll soon put that right, though ;)

I have some house repairs to get knocked out before the weekend, if I luck up and get them done, I may load up for a spin around the block...FWIW my "block" is about 12 miles around, and if I happen to get lost I might just end up camping at the lake. :D

Sometimes. I travel heavily during the week, quite often don't get home until late Friday night and quite often have to leave on Sunday nights for Monday morning meetings out of state. Glad to have a job in this economy, and the pay is decent. But by being gone all week means I ALWAYS have somethings that have to be taken care of when I get home, most of it is little stuff that most people would do after work in the evenings, but for me a weeks worth of small things will chew up a whole Saturday.

Thanks, those are Jandd racks. I have always preferred having the option of a platform on the front rack. They can be hard to find sometimes. In the past that is where my small tent usually rode. I haven't gotten started on the loadmaster part of the project yet.

I think the yellow, black and red combo should get people's attention...might just keep them from running over me. :D

Some of my all time favorite bikes...I have two more. :P

The others are Excursions which were a Euro spec trekking/city bike. Only sold for a couple of years in the US around 1990.

Looks like it's time to change your signature! That's a snazzy looking bike, love the yellow fenders.

Still looking for a 23" frame :D the one I have is a 21" and I could use a bit of extra room. But I have spent a fair part of my life adapting to bikes that are a tad on the small side. Large framed bikes are hard to come by, even the more modern ones.

I started out with racks and panniers from Robert Beckman Designs so I "learned" on a front rack with a platform. When I toured with a small tent, it went on the front. Unfortunately, my Beckman racks, along with the bike attached to them, were stolen out of my house a week before last X-Mas. For reasons I won't get into, I decided not to have another set made. Instead, I went with the Nitto Big front and rear racks and Ortlieb panniers. Now that I tour with a partner and use a larger tent, it goes on the rear rack and the sleeping bag goes on the front. The great thing about the setup is that it allows to you put the gear parallel with the bike instead of perpendicular to it.
