Christmas

Did anyone give or receive any cool touring gifts? My son received a Tubus Cargo and a Toplight from the Touring Store.

A Park chain measuring tool, an inclinometer, and a cyclocomputer. The computer was a surprise as it was not on the Amazon list and I've never wanted one. As I had the bar space and didn't want to disappoint the giver, it's installed and working. Total mileage, calories, and temp will be interesting trivia.

Replacement tubes and bite values for my camelbacks. Great gift. Something I never seem to remember to buy for myself!

The coolest touring gift you can get or give is money. Money helps you eat better on tour.

multi-tool (Crank Bros M-19) and gift REI card from my kids

an IOU from my wife for "a plane ticket for you and your Surly to your next big tour" (No mention of a return ticket. Should I be worried?):(

I bought myself a new small digital camera that will be easier to carry on rides.

Got two things:
1. A sizable check that will help fund my upcoming tour.
2. A Mountain Hardware Phantom 45F down bag (17 ounces and packs the size of a softball).

Gave a Big Agnes Encampment 15F bag.

Yup!

-Rain pants from some small Oregon company
-Ultralight (but very large) tarp to hang over my camping hammock - replacing a smaller, heavier and worse one
-Camping spork/knife set that weighs .5 oz for the set
-Gift certificate to an outdoors store, with which I got some great Smart Wool socks and some figure 9s to make hanging that tarp easier.

Not exactly touring specific, but I am sure it will get used on tours, I got an Ibex Merino wool hoodie, super nice...
