Where to get ACA maps

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there was any way to get ACA maps other than their website.
I live in France so shiping is actually more expensive than the maps!
Do bikeshops sell them? Could I get them second hand? (I looked on ebay, craigslist and crazyguyonabike but found nothing so far).
I will start my tour in San Diego, any way to get maps from there?

Thank you!

My local REI store used to carry the ACA maps that were useful in California. I think there are a few bike shops that carry them as well though, again, they just have the ones that are useful in this area.

In the worst case, I'd plan to spend the day you arrive staying in a hotel in San Diego. Have ACA ship the maps to you at the hotel. Ideally, you'd want the maps to show up only 1-2 days before you arrive; less likely they'll get lost that way. Probably not a bad idea to contact the hotel and let them know a package will be arriving for you.

Send them an email and ask.

You can have them sent General Delivery to a post office in San Diego, they will hold for you for 30 days.

That should work fine, but if you want confirmation that the maps are waiting for you you could also contact a warmshowers.org host in or near San Diego and see if you can arrange to have them receive your maps for you. Not sure which method I'd choose.

If you're looking for used, remember to check out the ACA forums as well.

Which route(s) are you looking for? Are you looking for an entire route, or just a single map?

Thanks for all the answers!

I'm looking for 3 of the Great Divide maps (from MT to CO) and the first section of the Northen Tier map (WA).

If you're wanting to review the routes prior to your visit, this site may help- will show you the route, but without all the supplemental info on the maps- like where to stay, eat, shops, etc.

ACA, may air mail them to you, likely less than a week transit.

A book from Uk only took that , standard mail.

I'm wondering what shipping method you've been quoted? A flat rate box or envelope should get the maps to you for $16.95 US...

You can get them a little cheaper from Cyclocamping but I'm not sure if they have all of them. You might have the same issue with shipping costs though.

If I'm not mistaken, ACA lowered their prices on these maps. Individual sections of the ST used to run about $18 for non-members if I remember correctly, but now they're $14.75. Cyclocamping has them for $14.50. I'm pretty sure the savings on Cyclocamping used to be much more than that.
