Back into Touring

Before, when I was an avid cyclist I had a factory Cannondale T1000 setup. I love the brifters. I just bought a new CAAD2 bike that has straight handlebars. Can road brifters work on a straight handlebarS? I never used the drops in my rides and would only use the hoods or straight part of the handlebar.

Thanks.

I would not use road shifters on a flat bar bike because cable pull will likely be wrong and chances are it will be awkward getting the position to feel right.

If you like the idea of your brake levers also doing the shifting Shimano does dual control levers for mountain bikes, you can probably find them used pretty cheap too. Dual Control shifters
