John O'Groats to Land's End Twice and a Book!

Hello All

I'm new to BF and this particular forum looked a good place to start.

Living in the UK, I took up road biking about three years ago after a few years of mountain biking, with the goal of riding the Deloitte Ride Across Britain which is a 1,000 mile ride from the top of Scotland to the bottom of England in 9 days. I did it in June 2010 and said never again. In 2011 I did it again! And no, I'm not doing it this year - it's going the other way and therefore going uphill!

Has anybody on the forum heard of the RAB or done it themselves?

Since taking early retirement, I've tried my hand at writing novels and when I finished the second RAB ride, I set out to write a novel which uses the ride and people I met as a backdrop. It's All Downhill was published earlier this year. It is a novel, not a travelogue of experience, it has a plot and a wide variety of characters.

If you're interested, it's available form Amazon in the UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Its-All-Down...7067097&sr=1-1 or in the US - https://www.amazon.com/Its-All-Downhi...9593327&sr=1-1

It's getting good reviews (see Amazon UK site) , Phil Liggett has recommended it to his 85,000 Twitter followers and it has been mentioned/recommended favourably in the Sunday Times recently. It's been described as an easy read and a page turner - it's also not a long book and is ideal for holidays and plane journeys

So commercial over, but if you do read it, I love to hear what people think of it.

Hope to hear from a few of you.
