best headlight for son dynamo please.
 

Son dynamo klassic 28 owners what is the best headlight for this dynamo.
i want a headlight that will light up a dark country road :thumb:
a really good headlight but no hot spots if you follow me a nice spread of bright light..

That's what I bought, and it works for me. I supplement it with a Blackburn Flea on my helmet when I need the light to see, so that I can see where I'm looking, not just where I'm going.

Ive got a primary/secondary E6 schmidt halogen pair,
its the kit a lot of overnight Paris-Brest-Paris riders use
will sell it, never used the 2ndary,, the series switch
is different, On or bypass, primary is On/off..


have a 3rd light a primary too.. short lead.

put Schmidt's Edelux LED light on .. it's what i got this winter, for my commuter..

Top of the line lights are the Edelux. Not as pricey and nearly effective are the the B&M Cyo series. YMMV.

Love my Cyo R (had it for about 1.5 years).

Had an overpriced Inoled 10+ before that, didn`t think it was any better than the cheap Lumotec it replaced.

Started with a $US 20 round halogen Lumotec, which didn`t put out much light, but I still think was a good bang for the few bucks it cost me. Worked fine up to about 15 MPH in dry conditions.

Never tried a Fly IQ, but at about 80 USD they`re supposed to be a great value also.

I believe the brightest are the Supernova but they cost mucho dollars. I have a B&M IQ Cyo RT and I love it.

Get a wired taillight while you're at it.

B&M light up the road and have good mounting systems but I find the plastic bodies a bit brittle. If your bike is such that the lamp hits the downtube when your bars flip around, then it can crack. Superglue seems to fix it OK.

The SON Edelux is very comparable to the B&M IQ Cyo with better casing, cooling and improved brightness (which may be explained by the better cooling). The mirror is said to be the same on both, so the light pattern should be the same.
I would've gotten the Edelux if it wasn't more than double the price of the Cyo R I bought, which turned out to be very usable.

I forgot to mention... I have 3 IQ Cyo's, 1 IQ Fly, 2 of the new Classic which is based on the Lumotec Lyt as well as several of their old halogen series. All of them are good lights for the price. Never had a problem out of any of them.

Thanks lads gret help ,yeah the super novaare something else but wat out of my budget ,
the edelux is also fantastic but expensive ,
so i think i'll settle for the Lumotes IQ CYO R .
now i have to figure a way to get it mounted on my raleigh road bike.
i will be using a ortlieb barbag so it aint going to fit up on the bars,
can i get a mount to use it on the fork ,or has anyone got a clever way to mount it ..

The IQ Cyo comes with a fork crown mount.

The B&M IQ Cyo R looks like this, mounted on the fork crown with the included mount on my LHT:

Mounts aren`t specific to any lights, as far as I know. If you want a fork mount, pretty much any of them you can dig up from an internet vendor should do the job for you. Personally, I like it right about where the crown mounts put it as long as nothing is in the way.

I have 2 IQ Cyo's on my primary commuter. They are bright enough for most riding, but they don't provide as much light as I would like for long distance night riding, but I have bad night vision. My eyes start to feel fatigued after a few hours.

I have a Supernova E3 Pro on order to put on my new trike, since Peter (from Peter White Cycles) said this one is brighter. If that's not enough, I'll add the E3 Triple, even though he says its too bright to use on the road.

B&M does offer a range of LED head and taillights..
AXA, also ...
for less than the Edelux, But IDK local costs there..
inc VAT , etc. ...

I have a fork crown light mount, on 1 bike
and there is still room under my Handlebar bag.

in fact more since the E6 reflector was bigger..

Edelux. nothing else compares.

Your best bet at that price is the IQ Cyo. Get the R version if you want to see the road near you better, the non-R version if you want slightly better distance vision.

The EDelux really is better, but it really will blow your budget.

I have the Fly IQ and it's awesome but I do sometimes wish it didn't cut the light off to make things easier for oncoming drivers. I'd rather it throw further up the road without my having to give up seeing pot holes right infront of me. On night descents I seldom like to get over 30mph with Fly IQ on for that reason.

Here a few of mine. I will have to get a close up of the IQ Fly on the city bike. Also the halogen on the front rack is being replaced with a Cyo, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
