I have a Pletscher on my Nashbar touring frame and I'm thinking about taking it off. The legs don't spread out that wide and when I have a load on the front and my fork turns, the Center of Gravity shifts enough to topple the bike. On my Trek FX7.1 that I'm converting to a Trekking bike I currently have a standard Greenfield kickstand. Once it's built up I'll test it (and possibly the Pletscher) with loads to see what happens to the CoG.
