Pacific Coast Bicycle Tour: 1,692 miles, 2 Best Friends and 2 Vintage Touring Bikes!

Hey all!,

Some of you may remember me from a few months back when I announced I would be doing my first ever bicycle tour. [http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-Starting-5-1]

Well, I'm happy to say that we successfully finished our tour back on June 20th, 2012!

My friend Will and I rode 1,692 miles from Seattle, WA to the border of Mexico on a 1985 Trek 520, and a 1986 Fuji Palisade with zero training prior to heading out on the tour. The tour was incredible to say the least!

I want to thank everyone here on the bikeforums that provided us with great advice and tips prior to leaving on our first tour. These forums ROCK!

For those who are interested in reading our experiences from the Pacific Coast, please head on over to my blog to read all about our tour...

Congratulations, Ryan. Glad to hear you made it after all the knee trouble you had initially.

I loved the photos of the kite fest in Rockaway Beach, then you go on to Tillamook ice cream. Man, what's not to love about Oregon??? Great trip, thanks for posting post trip report.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I have to admit that I rode through a lot of knee pain during this tour. IB Profren and Icy Hot were my best friends! Thanks for following along.
