They don't seem to care for international market, the website is Italian only.

Really? I think the stem, saddle and bar tabe are nasty.

This smells like spam to me, by the way, I'm not clicking through.

Gios Torino can't sell abroad..for now
Gios has been divided a few years ago, an uncle continued with taiwanese bikes and Aldo and Marco Gios continued the original Made In Italy brand, hence the nice lug work
no spam just a Gios Fan (and a touring bike fan).
I recon it comes with whatever saddle stem or bar-tape you like.
but it'll be blue.
ciao,

Jan

GIOS Italy makes really fine bikes. I owned and rode a GIOS Compact Pro for several years and it was a great riding bike with incredible finish. Only reason I sold it was the frame was a little too small for me. Details such as the stem, saddle and bartape are personal touches that are typically chosen during the build process. I would be curious about the geometry because every GIOS I have ever seen, in any size, had 74 seat tube angles and short top tubes. A very nice feature of my GIOS was the adjustable and replaceable rear dropouts.

You represent the company ? work for them?

Add a few extra braze-on's on a steel Cross frame, and its a touring bike ..

hope it planes .. but not too much under a load.

certainly has Bling.

Threadless stems do look lumpy to those who got used to threaded headset /Quill stems

I got the new A-90 with the adjustable dropouts, I figure on a touring bike you'd need as less screwed on parts as possible.
I red somewhere that the geometry will be posted on their site in September

hey fietsbob what'up with the nickname? wanna continue the conversation in Dutch? I just got used to threaded headset, I think it's simply stiffer.

Remove a few extra braze-on's from a touring bike, and its a cross frame .. slap a flatbar on it and it's a hybrid.. in the end it's the legs that get you there, but getting there with bling is fun.

*by the way no I don't ..work for them nor do I represent them

Hope those rims are heavy duty because radial spoked wheels with that few spokes don't tend to be very strong especially if you've been packing on the linguini. Nice looking frame though!

Well there is the BB height difference, higher on cross competition frames,
so you don'd dig a pedal into the uphill slope of off camber sections.

lots of US Hand Builders can put together a investment cast Lugged steel Frame ..
Just wont say Gios Torino on it with those snazzy coin medallions on the top of the fork..

But if you want to Fly to Italy and start your tour from their shop , Good on Ya.

That's a beautiful frame. I love that traditional Italian look, it's very sexy. I raced for years on an early 80's Gios. Hope you enjoy the bike.
I didn't check the components, are they Campy? Italian bikes need Campy for that old school look.

GOOD VOYAGE ABOARD ERIDANIA

Believe is the new spot for a cruise?

Wrong! This is a new project "Gios Torino" that we have developed in recent months and finished with pride last week.

Our client and friend Don Julian came to us some time ago with a very ambitious goal: sail along the River Po to Venice by bicycle. Being a loyal owner of Gios bikes told us their needs and we started the project. It 's been nice to have the full confidence of a person and fields to explore a little' outside the traditional road bikes.

The frame is steel that we built, cross geometry, thus more comfortable and suitable for long distances and to accommodate wider tires. And 'fully prepared for fenders and rack, for which we have entrusted the expert "Outdoor & Bike Ride" in Brunico (BZ), who with their experience, we have provided the Tubus models more suitable to our creation, as well as Ortlieb bags. The fork head was large an opportunity to revive a preview of the famous "head with the tags" that soon will come to light on the new chassis "Prodigious", all "dressed" with graphics of the classic "Super Record" . The bike mounts obviously a compact 50-34 crankset and sprocket 10 V 13-29.

Upon delivery, our Don Julian shuddered to find the name and "baptize" his new creation. But actually we had already thought alone! Eridanus is the old name of the river Po, and Eridania is the area that goes through this.

About: Eridania sugar is over 100 years time produced in this area from which it takes its name: in the figure below, a fresco by Giuseppe Antonio Santagata (1888-1985), the Po Valley , representing the industrial installations of the refinery Eridania sugar, which were in the port of Genoa, the main route of commercial distribution .

the company split a few years ago, Aldo Gios ( Roger de Vlaeminck's mechanic) and his son Marco continued the original Made In Italy brand www.giostorino.it, while uncle Alfredo continued selling bikes from Taiwan named Gios overseas.
