Perth to Prague in a week

Hi all,

I'm in a team of 6 who are looking to do a trip from Perth (Scotland) to Prague (Czech Republic) (about 746 miles/1200km) in a week. We will have a support vehicle to carry our stuff.
The breakdown of our route seems to be getting the ferry at Newcastle or Hull, and then cycling from Zeebrugge (Belgium) or IJmuiden (Netherlands) through Germany and into the Czech Republic.
I'm hoping there's someone on here who's done a similar route through western Europe who can help me.

My main questions are:

Roads or traffic-free cycle routes?
Road bikes or tourers?
Which route would be best?

And any other advice would be great too!

Nope.. Im slower.. ferry to DK , 2nd one from CPH to Polish ferry port.
Swinouiscie,, ride Oder valley, due south from there .
have taken the Copenhagen to Poland ferry. then to Prague,
but I did a side trip to Warsaw, first.

and I was an unsupported Solo.

For the UK part, there is the North Sea Cycle route, which you could get on around Kinross, and follow down to Newcastle or Hull, if you want to ride the UK section as as well.

Would make sure you have done some distance work before, as that's along way to go in a short time if you aren't used to it, even if supported.
