Baltic States?

Has anyone had any experience touring in the Baltic area? Did you self guide or use a tour?
Thanks

Toured Poland and Lithuania in August. Tour was organized and guided by a priest, which is the best way to travel through those very Catholic countries...he hooked us up with places to stay every night, usually a monastery, school, or pilgrimage center where he had a contact.

I cycled through the Baltic States on my ride from Amsterdam to Vladivostok in 2007. Some impressions:
- flat, long hours of daylight in summer
- reasonable roads, good markings of bicycle routes in Estonia
- fair amount of English spoken, at least compared with neighboring area

Overall, left with favorable impression as a good place to cycle tour and one that isn't too difficult to get around w/o a guide or organized tour.
