Bongoties/with Pics

I'm not promoting this product nor do I have anything to do with the company. I'm just an end user.
My these little guys are handy. I use one to squeeze the front brake handle so my bike doesn't roll away while propped up against the garage or at work. I have also used one for a pants tie. Just do a google on the title. There must be million uses for them I'm thinking for bikers. Marlowe http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=278184 |
Along with Bongoties, velcro cable ties can come in handy. As do those rubber bracelets you see everywhere. I use my Livestrong one to pin my right pant cuff to keep it out of the chain. It's always with me, handy for this.

Rubber band with a dog bone. Nice.

When I tour, I just use a rubber band. No need for the dog bone because you can use the brake lever for a meeting point of the ends.

The guy that makes the Clickstand includes something similar with his product they work great.
|
At least the "magic" power energizing rubber bracelets can be used for something!! Hope you did not pay full price...
|
Yet another small, unnecessary, little item that costs money, and will get lost in the first few days of a tour.
|
Yea anything that will pull the brake lever back and stop the wheel's rolling.
|
I wonder if I could become the Canadian distributor for this nifty little unit.
I can see it making me $ millions. |

Also, I haven't had the bands long enough to know, and I did have one separate (not break, but the plastic doohicky that holds the ends together came open), but the cloth-elastic material seems like it's more durable and weather-friendly than your average rubber band which gets dry and brittle before too long and snaps. Don't know what these Bongoties are made of, but they look much more like a rubber band, and I'd be concerned about their longevity. But I do agree that being able to lock your brakes turns out to be very useful, however you do it. |
I use and old toe clip strap, front wheel to middle of down tube to hold bike.
