Does anyone own one of these? Is it any good for touring?

When I weighed 145lbs it would be fine. If you weigh 220lbs and are thinking of carrying 30lbs it would be nice to go to 32mm tires and replace the rear wheel with a 36 spoke and heavier rim. Regular weight road/training wheels can work for light people and light loads but dead weight over the rear wheel and 28mm tires that aren't kept to sufficient psi will shorten wheel life.

So the question isn't entirely bike dependent but load and road.

If you look at their whole bikes list they categorize as 1 of their 2 Touring bikes,
difference around handlebar choice. why question the fact?

though as set up they think Brevet /Audax events are their customers rides, faster, carry less.
Paris to the end of Brittany and back, within time limit. that sort of Tour. [or commute]

Touring is an act of doing, if it fits well, and you can get back on it and ride another day,
for weeks, and carry some stuff.. it's a a tourer.

are you in Italy, where you can Buy those ? and test ride it first?

I'm in Taiwan, where decent bikes for tall people are hard to find. Test rides aren't real popular here either. My limited Chinese doesn't help things. I'm having a hard time finding someone willing to take my money for a decent bike. Funny, considering how many are made here.

you considered taking a flight off island to where the selection is better,?
Australia, NZ, [VAT is refunded when exported]
Japan, or the US West Coast.. [no sales tax in Oregon]

With Dealer, over the web many details can be sorted out,
and a bike ready when you land, and go take a tour around that place..

Agree with LeeG re: the wheelset.

Also, it's not really geared for mountainous terrain, at least with a full load.

I may be able to pick something up on a business trip. It's not a bad idea.

Masi seems to be readily available here. Perhaps I can get by with a CX or old Randonnuer until I can being something in from the States.
