On touring across the US? Im hoping for something that has a route or some maps.

Have you been to Adventure Cycling? They have maps for 3 different trans-continental routes.

Check out adventurecycling.org. They've got the best TransAm routes and maps, and a couple other routes that are fully mapped out, with directions, services, etc. all listed. There's a couple of books in their bookstore that are good reads, but for a route, go with the maps. OTOH, if you're looking for how to do it, go read the articles in their HOWTO section.

Check state by state with their Dept. of transport, they have general maps, maybe some bike specific..
OTOT, here has a Coast route map for Bicyclists.. Free .. Have them at the LBS, here , and at a Kiosk/info board , just after the bridge from WA, on US 101, at 202 intersection. western most end of Astoria. |

There's a previous thread with pretty much the same question here.
One thing to consider is that ACA makes GPS Waypoints freely available for download. That won't tell you where camping is, but will keep you on the road. Also, check ebay for used maps. And just remembered that ACA has a classifieds section.. If the ACA maps are interesting to you, see who's selling, and post your own request. |
