Thanks for clearing that up. I don't have a backyard or a car, so that eliminates the first two. The other options might be doable, though.

Every single one of our guests has never hosted and most have no plans to reciprocate once they get back home for various reasons. Seems to me that most members are either a host or a guest on WS. In our case, we have only hosted and have never been a guest at another WS home. As spinnaker said, if it makes you self-conscious, you can help in other ways to return the favor.

I feel uneasy about hitting people up to stay in their homes because my wife won't let me reciprocate by offering our sofa in return, so I've been considering AirBnB, a site where people charge you to stay in their home or in a dwelling they're not using. Have any of you used this service?

Yes I am now a WS host but will not be home in Ireland until i get back from the Trans AM which should be sometime in August , after that you very welcome.
