Hey all,

Just writing to point you in the direction of the short write up I just did about my cycle tour from Edinburgh>Inverness at the end of last month.

I'm a third year photography student studying at the Edinburgh College of Art so tend to indulge in analogue processes whenever I can. This series in particular is shot on a Rolleicord loaded with HP5+

As it's the first "official" post of my re-designed blog, please do let me know what you think.

I've ridden pretty much the whole of that route at one time or another. In fact, one of my favourite tours took me from Perth north through Braemar, over the Lecht to Grantown on Spey, past Inverness and west to Achnasheen, Loch Carron, Invergarry, Fort William and south via Glencoe and Bridge of Orchy. Absolutely spectacular.

Personally I don't share your desire for company on the road, one of the things I like best about touring is the solitude.

Thus far I've avoided the west coast. I've driven through Glen Coe enough times to know it's a scary stretch of road!

All the tours I've done until this one have been with my girlfriend or family so perhaps it's just an adjustment I need to make. That and buy an iPod.

Really? I have ridden it many times and think it's fine, as rural A-roads go...

Give the west coast a try. From Fort William up it is an absolute delight. In particular, the Applecross peninsula is worth a couple of days of any cyclotourist's time, with the Bealach na Ba as an iconic climb and the Applecross Inn as a fantastic place to eat/stay.

97 I came up the west coast, though I used the Island Hop of Ferrys from Ayr to Oban , via Arran,Islay, etc.

Thanks a lot! I printed up the first batch of them yesterday. Making a set of 5 fibre printed diptychs of 'classic' passes in the Cairngorms.
