Concur. Especially if it is an Ortlieb Backroller that is unencumbered with pockets.

I put one on my new touring bike.....didn't like it.Went back to a regular Greenfield stand, much more stable and the front wheel doesn't flop around anymore when stopped,I don't have to lift the bike up on the stand.....I didn't like it with weight on the bike.

I appreciate all the replies. The kickstand won't be in until next week. That will give me plenty of time to decide if I'm going to use it or not. It comes with those parts that help keep you from crushing the change stays and ill wrap them with strips of rubber from an inner tube.

I'd like to add a double kick-stand to my wife's bike, but only because she likes to get off the bike on the drivetrain side, which means she's never on the correct side of the bike to easily put her kick-stand down. Will this model enable her to put the stand down from either side of the bike?

Not the Pletscher. With it, the two legs fold together on the non-drive side of the bike. There are a couple of other models of double kickstands out there though that don't fold up like that, and so are probably accessible from both sides.

Thanks. I wasn't sure what they meant when they described both legs folding to one side of the bike. I still can't picture it, but all I need to know is that it won't solve my wife's problem.
