quick question
just a quick question (which will no doubt open up a debate)
whats the best seat for a tour? |
Unless you are riding a recumbent, you side on a saddle not a seat. The best saddle for a tour is the one that works best for you. People will throw out all kind of theories but when it comes down to it, the choice is yours.

saddle... that's what i meant, its late
and thanks for the advice i think |
Unfortunately there's nobody but your own butt and other unmentionables that can answer that for you.
I like my Brooks B17, but can also see the appeal of a saddle that I don't have to worry about how wet it gets. Lots of people like Brooks and the B17 doesn't seem to have the painful break-in period associated with leather saddles, though YMMV. |
Thanks for clearing that up - I don't think anyone understood what he meant.

For me ... Brooks B17. Comfy, conforms to my butt, can withstand heavy downpours and other inclement weather, durable ... :)
|
And obliviously a typo. It is sit not side. ;)
|
Brooks B 68
|
The best saddle is one that you can ride on for a long period of time. I started touring with leather saddles Ideale and Brooks B17 because that is awhat was available then. I still ride on Brooks B17s. Some people find some modern saddles very good,; but you are the only one who can tell.

Selle Italia XO saddle, synthetic and waterproof, needs no "wearing in", tightening, re-lacing, special creams and whatever else Brooks owners have to do maintaining, conditioning and grooming their pets, uh saddles I mean ;)
