Erie Canal - any info on current conditions?

My son and I leave in a little over a week to ride the Eire Canal between Rochester & Albany. The weather up here in the NE has been just wet, wet, wet. We set an all time record for May & June as the wettest months ever!

I heard about flooding in some towns along the Erie Canal, just wondering if anyone in the area has any specific info on the canal trail (closures/reroutes).

Bike Rt 5 is a paved road that parallels the canal. You may find yourself using the paved road just because it's there at times. Enjoy the ride. I'm sure you will love it.
My son and I RODE THE CANAL in 08 and it rained most days. No problem.

It's been super wet here in rochester, but I haven't heard of any flooding issues along the canal itself. You might find the non-paved portions of the trail super muddy though.
