Did anybody have ever used a Exped Schnozzel Pumpbag ?

I am thinking about getting one for my Therm-a-rest sleeping pad. I would like to hear all your comments about it! Actually my main concern is not about the ability of inflate my pad but more about using it as a stuff bag for my sleeping bag. It seems pretty thin! Does this bag last long when used as stuff bag? Is it made from good material?

Why? I just use a short length of an old inner tube to connect by bike pump to my ThermaRest. No extra things to carry.

I use one with my Exped mat. At first I thought it would be a pain in the @$$ but it turned out to work really well. It is waterproof and very thin. I can't imagine that with heavy use as a stuff sack it will last a long time. I thought about using it to stuff the sleeping bag, but it does not shrink your bag down much and will take up excessive room in your pannier, probably filling it loosely, as well as seeming like the material wouldn't hold up as a regular stuff sack. I did stuff it and use it as a pillow a couple of times on my tour this summer without issue, and when it wasn't used as a pillow it stayed in the pannier.

I though that the valve would make a great bag for the sleeping bag indeed. By stuffing the sleeping bag with the valve open, compressing it and then closing the valve, I though the bag would retain the vacuum and remain small, doesn't it?

VT_Speed_TR: How do you connect your little tube to the pump? did you keep the valve on it? Additionnaly, how many stroke do you need to inflate the pad?
If I use the Pumpbag as stuff bag for my sleeping bag, it is not really an extra things to carry. And most of the time I unfold the pad at the same time as the sleeping bag.

My only concern is really about the durability of that bag !!

I have not used the Exped bag inflation system but do use the Exped pillow pump, a foam pillow with the inflation nozzle. The bag appears to be faster for inflating the Exped mattress than the pillow pump.
My Exped mattress sometimes needs a little boost during the night and the pillow pump will do the job. An advantage is they keep the moisture from your breathe out of the mattress.

There are actually three Pump Sack available from what I know :
* Exped Schnozzel Pumpbag
* Big Agnes Pumphouse Pad Pump Dry Sack
* Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Pump Sack
The Big agnes and the Therm-a-Rest have a drawstring to close their nozzle and opening respectivelly. Therefore they are not recommended to be used as real dry sack.
I went to REI, had a look at the Exped Schnozzel. This bag is thin but not as much as I expected. It is similar to regular low weight dry sacks.

I finally decided to get one. I will use it for the next six months so I will see if it was a good purchase or not.
