Anybody here with a Nitto Campee front rack?

I'm talking about the kind with removable low riders for the panniers. If you do, could you measure the rack platform, width and length?

I have the rear one and would like to get the front one but on the rear, the damn platform is annoyingly short. I'm trying to get an idea of the dimensions of this think to see if they will work for me.

Is this rack so rare that nobody here has one?

No, likely , they just dont read this forum, in the couple Days you had it up

.. Its a Japanese rack, copied .. patterned after a French one .

they are an Old Design .. the rear one in the same era put the rear panniers, also Low

for heel clearance, that meant the racks and thus the panniers were behind the rear axle

and the whole load went just in the 4 panniers .. so no real need for much top platform.

front low-riders are common now , no need to make the pannier support removable, just take the Bags off..

For my setup these would work fine. I have a randonneur bag that would be supported by the rack, plus the low riders for when I actually need to hang bags in there. The other big plus is that here in Japan I can get them for about $150 brand new.

Short of original vintage, classic designs are by definition a copy. Judging by the one I have on the rear this is one heck of a copy; the workmanship and finish is superb. I just want to make sure it will fit the rando bag just right.

I have a Nitto Big Front Rack, which is a newer version of the Campee rack with the large front platform. Check it out at Rvendell. I believe the platform dimensions are listed on their site. It's large enough to easily hold my large sleeping bag. The panniers sit mid-height. Handling is fine. Nothing to remove.

I built a combination .. separate small front rack, braces to brake bosses ..
already had the Low rider rack. [Bruce Gordon]

but in Japan do as you feel you must.
