I did the GAP last month during a tour from PGH to PHL. Did you camp at Husky Haven Campground along side the trail at Rockwood? If so, did you enjoy the train horns? I wish I had had ear plugs. One redeeming event was seeing an owl swoop down, bag an unlucky chipmunk and fly off.

Nice shot-- Go to your Library, choose album, find photo, click in IMG box in the menu under the photo ( it will highlight), copy it, and paste in your post

Technically, I'm curious: are you nearly still in this image? I see a little blurring in your spokes, but I'm surprised that there's not more disruption in (and out of) the water.

Well, thanks!

I got at least 50 shots like that in different angles as the sun set, around 10-12 shots per angle and most are out of focus. I think it's because I zoomed in or out and I forgot to refocus. The camera is knee high on a tripod, I have a wireless release in my hand with the camera shooting at 9fps. The buffer fills immediately though. I tried different angles and different speeds, sometimes I'm not in the frame. I got a couple of other nice shots but they're out of focus. The beach is hard packed sand with a very shallow angle so as the tide came up, tiny waves would come far and retreat slowly. I got one where it's all water but it's out of focus... I took a few more shots after that and packed a before a bigger wave toppled the tripod over.

Edit: it was shot at 1/250.

Saw this little guy over Labor day weekend in Paw Paw Bends (Gap/C&O trip). He was running along side me between the tow path and the Potomac. Once I figured out what the noise was I broke out my camera and caught him on his escape.

This is the best pic from the trip I just returned from.
It made everyone I know think I am some sort of madman.
This was a road, a few miles of this, and then it got bad.
Eventually found the highway and gave up on google bike routes.

Oh yeah. It started in Arkansas, and went into Missouri. Somewhere between The Gateway AR area and Monett MO. Did that first ten miles are great thing, then turned into a creek with no warning.

As a terrible tourist I seldom take pictures, but out of the five I did I liked this one the best.
