Lovely! Reminds me of myself in a lot of ways.

Edited to add: Philosophically speaking. I'm nowhere near the cyclist he was.

thanks Ant, eccentric fellow it seems but he certainly embodied someone with a real life long love of being on two wheels. He reminds me of old guys I used to see in Sunday group rides in France, which was always a great inspiration to me about being able to enjoy riding into old age.
On the page linked http://tignon.andre.free.fr/report.php?id=1480 there was a page of his 2006 season, and it just boggles the mind looking at his daily kms over the year. It seemed just about every day he would do about 100km or more.

thanks again for putting this up.
cheers

he certainly makes you think of the load you need to carry,i know he was cycling big miles but he seemed happy enough that he had everything he need to keep dry warm and fed.

Inspiring. When I retire I aspire to ride and live like him, although I think I'll spend the nights in a motel or in a tent.

Geez...sorry to go against the grain here, but he seemed kind of angry and self-righteous to me.

Thanks for posting that. Very inspiring. He seems like the Fred Beckey of bicycle touring. Out there ticking off his todo lists until the very end.

What specifically does he say or do that makes you think he comes off as self-righteous?
