Gap Year/Semester Cycling Programs?

Hey guys, so next year I am looking into the possibility of a gap year. I was wondering if any of you guys know about any programs I could look into or maybe take advantage of? Thanks so much!

Ask school counselors first? they may know stuff for college transferrable credit.

but it may not include just riding your bike places ..

They were conscripting people to die in a foreign war when I got out of high-school.

you bet!

there's the highly popular (with old men who like to yell "get off my lawn!")
get-off-your-lazy-butt-and-do-some-research-and-make-a-plan-and-do-it program.

in layperson's terms it's sometimes simply called "growing up" or even
"learning to be responsible."

You could join the field workers for planting and the next harvest, and you will boost your spanish vocabulary.

trees need replanting after fires, and when they do burn somebody has to go try and put the fires out.

under 21 and you can be a jr cop in stings busting bars for serving underage without checking ID's

The Otesha Project is Canadian, but I don't know whether the US has a similar programme. That might be worth checking out, and then there's WWOOF (WorldWide Opportunities on Organic Farms) - you could use your bike to get from WWOOF'ing post A, to WWOOF'ing post B - even going so far as to cross the US using the WWOOF programme.

Good luck.

What sort of programs are you thinking of?

For example ... are you thinking of working overseas? I'm guessing you're young enough that you can.
