Trekking Bars-What angle?

For those of you with trekking bars what angle do you set them at? Flat, 45 degrees , or more or less?
Thanks!

Whatever angle gives you the most usable positions. I think mine is about 30° but I never bothered to measure them.

Mine are fairly flat but maybe the front is just a touch higher than the rear. I've seen them set in every possible position so as long as you're comfortable and can reach your brakes quickly when needed, then feel free to experiment. There are a couple of older threads where people have taken photos of their trekking bars which might give you some ideas.

I went with +8 stem, made the bars parallel in the side view.

45 degrees is pretty extreme, definitely keep it under 30.

Mine are rotated pretty flattish .. my most comfortable 'grip' is open palm.
resting on the sides and spanning the opening.

Mine are about 20 deg. I noticed on a recent trip that cyclists in Germany and Austria have their trekking bars mounted more steeply ... about 45 deg.
